Its time to diarise another great ride to Chrissiesmeer and to visit The Lost Hamlet of Bonnefoi.

Meeting at 12H00 at Blue Gum Lodge/ Groen Koei Coffee Shop, enjoy a cup of coffee or a quick bite. No 7 Lakeside Ave in Bethal; waypoint S26 26 49.4 E29 27 40.2 (PS the Groen Koei Koffee shop has moved to this address). Make sure your tank is full and ready to leave at 13H00. As always there will be a leader and sweeper on this trip to make sure that every rider is kept in the group. If for some reason you fall behind, meet up with us in Chrissiesmeer just make sure to sms or leave a voicemail confirming this.

A trip not to be missed, our one night out venue is a game farm on the crocodile river north of Thabazimbi; 12km from the Botswana border as the crow flies. We meet up at Beestekraal Station Restaurant, 35 km out of Brits on the R511 at 09H00 on the Saturday morning of 28th January 2012. Have a cup of coffee and then head toward Rooiberg via some very scenic dirt roads. As always there will be a leader and sweeper on this trip to make sure that every rider is kept in the group.

At The Koekepan in Rooiberg we can enjoy a hearty lunch. From here we move on toward Thabazimbi. Refuel and stock up for the evening meal in Thabazimbi. From Thaba it’s an 80km dirt run to the farm Bally Shannon. Please be aware that this weekend ride has some stretches of thick and loose sand, very much like the terrain in Botswana.
